The standard contains: 8 main sections, 61 sub sections, and 392 shall requirements which include section 7.3 design and development requirements.

Important Note: If section 7.3- is excluded then the shall requirements are reduced to 336 shall requirements and the subsections are reduced to 52 instead of 61 sections. (See ISO 9001 topics for main section call outs).

A major advantage with AS 9100 standard is that once the system is implemented you are meeting ISO 9001 standard requirements as well as AS 9100 standard requirements, therefore it satisfies the commercial and aerospace customer requirements.
