ISO 22000:2005 specifies requirements for a food safety management system for organizations in the food chain and related industries, which need to demonstrate the ability to control food safety hazards and to ensure that food is safe at the time of human consumption.
It's applicable to many organizations, regardless of size, which are involved in any aspect of the food chain and want to implement systems that provide safe products. Meeting any requirements of the ISO 22000:2005 standard can be accomplished by using internal and/or external resources.
