The standard contains:  This standard consists of eight main and 51 sub clauses. It contains 242 shall requirements and 21 records requirements. This standard is generic in nature and can be utilized for all industry branches.

Important Note:  This standard is the most used and well known standard for quality management systems in the world. More than one million companies are certified in 170 countries against this standard.  This is the most current Quality Management System Standard. It can be used for internal and external parties including certification bodies to assess the organizations compliance to this standard. It is mandatory if certification is sought.
